Freelancing: Yes of No?

Good day everyone!

Today I'm off of work and really taking some time for myself which I rarely get to do. One thing I'm doing today is more research on freelancing. You see where I live , makeup artistry is not really in demand. I live in a very very VERY laid back area. Dare I say a place where most women don't even bother to put on moisturizer or even wash their face. It is true. So with that being said makeup artists/ estheticians like myself really have to put ourselves out there so we can service these people and also do our job. I've been considering freelancing this season again because it's a great way to network and it's really just fun. If you love what you do it doesn't matter where you do it. But like I said it's about getting people in your area aware of you and even the beauty community in general. So my question is, have any of you freelancers or makeup artists face this minor dilemma? And if so what actions did you take to make things happen? I love to learn and one of the best ways to learn about anything is through other people and their own experiences. Let me know!

I'm BAAAAACCCCKKKKKKK

Oh my beautiful beautiful blog how I've missed you!!!

It has been such a whirlwind these past 6 months or so and now starting this new year even more is yet to come!! I'm so sad I parted from my blog for so long. But now I am for sure back and will be making posts from time to time. I'm so excited for what 2012 has in store!!! Well to start I must say that I did transfer back in October from Sephora inside JCpenney to a freestanding Sephora!!!! AAAAA!!! very exciting. Love it everyday doesn't even feel like a job for me.  That will be the last I say about Sephora. I'll be keeping my work life off of my blog. But if you guys have any questions please feel free to hit me up with a message. I'm also going to start freelancing again!!! Woooohoooooo!!! Tis the season!! Very excited for wedding season and prom season!! And of course I'll be bringing you product reviews and tutorials like I promised! Hopefully some in video form too!! 2012 is the Year!! and on that note I leave you with a pics full of goodies!!!

Smashbox BB Cream,  Hervana blush by Benefit , Sephora head to toe hydrator,  Sephora Outrageous Volume mascara

This mascara is spankin new! The brush on this I think is what makes the product. Gives decent volume as well.

Sephora head to toe hydrator is a two in one punch which is what I love about this product. It's a moisturizer for your face and body! It penetrates the skin beautifully leaving you instantly hydrated. Can't go wrong with that. Great for travel.

I'm in looove with this blush. Has 4 complementary shades that go so perfect together. Gives you such a beautiful soft color and it actually smells delish! It comes with a brush but I didn't bother taking a pic of it I suggest not using the brush it comes with.

This concealer is by far one of The Best concealers I have tried. It's by hard candy which is carried at Wal-mart. The coverage from this is friggin awesome! Super smooth super easy to apply. Love using some primer underneath my eyes and putting this over definitely stays in place.

Fresh Fresh Fresh! I am in love with the product and the entire Fresh line. This specific product is the Sugar line which is their lip balms. This is the Passion color which is a tinted red. It's antioxidant rich, has black currant seed oils to condition, and has an SPF of 15. It is lush.

I realize I didn't take another pic of the new Smashbox BB cream. It primes, controls oil, hydrates, perfects, and protects with an SPF 35. I'm actually liking this new BB cream. I want to play with it a little bit more. I used it today during a hot yoga class and it stayed on pretty well. I'd like to use it underneath my regular foundation. I'll let you guys know how it holds up...

Beware!: BB creams are all the craze right now.

Happy beauty shopping loves!!

Spa Hunting Woes

So I'm currently on the hunt for a second part time or full time job. And ideally I'd like to work as an Esthetician in a Spa or salon or as a makeup artist in that setting. I've been all over the place looking for spas and salons, going to interviews, searching the internet, and trying to find a great Spa that will fit for me. It's no easy task finding the right place to work as an Esthetician. While there is no such thing as a perfect Spa (in most cases I have met people who say they work at a perfect Spa...where is that?!!) I refuse to settle for less just because.  So this morning I had an interview at a great Spa literally down the street from where I live. I can't say how excited/incredibly nervous I was to go, but I knew this was going to be a good experience.... hopefully..... actually I ended up leaving the interview a lot more confused and honestly a little stressed about my decision on whether to take the position or not . There's a list of pros about this Spa as well as a list of cons about it as well. So the search still continues. I need the perfect match for my Sephora job. Two places I work and get the best out of both.   If not a Esthetician position, then definitely something in the beauty industry. ...... not to mention I'm currently preparing for my state boards... oh gosh... lets just hope that by the end of the week I don't end up looking like this...

Until next time loves!

One Crazzzy Summer!

It's been weeks since I last posted and I'm so sad about it. Honestly I've been constantly thinking about my blog and how I miss posting.

It has been a CRAZY summer. I've been so busy with work and trying to find a second job and trying to figure out what I will do the next year or so (school wise) that I kind of consumed myself in that and didn't leave much time for posting even though I have a list of things to post haha. But now I'm coming back so yaya!!!!   I just have to get everything organized again...

I'll be back loves!

PS: The Clarisonic!! ;P

Professional quality skincare....

I'm about to make a major purchase on a skincare product today that I am SUPER excited about!!

But I'm not telling what it is yet until I get it!!!! So say tuned!!!

It's probably one of the most expensive skincare products I've purchased thus far and it's something I used while giving facials.

Oh what could it be?

You'll see. ;)

Oh these Summer days....

In the summer time most people love to show a little more skin. We also like to make sure our skin looks flawless and perfect, especially our face. But a lot of times summer weather can lead to lots of sun damage,  extra oiliness, and sweat clogging our pores. That's why it's always imperative, year round, to have a healthy skincare regimen. I recently picked up a little set of skincare products by the wonderful Ole Henrkisen. While I wasn't too familiar with his line, I'm SO glad I gave it a test run.

                                          The three little wonders set

Comes with:

Truth Serum collagen booster

Invigorating night gel & Sheer transformation

Ole Henriksens line speaks to all skin types and is made with natures most active ingredients. He's got award winning products and lots of people swear by his line. The number one thing I love about his line is the fact that he is very serious about his ingredients. And at the end of the day, that's what it's all about!

The Truth serum:
Serums are some of my favorite products. Mainly because serums tend to be a lot more potent and strong so they tend to really do their job and sometimes(and I mean sometimes) work a little faster.
This serum is pure Vitamin C and we all know how much I Love Vita C!
It helps brighten, tighten, and lighten!! haha! And it's a free radical fighter. Putting this on after a freshly washed face feels amazing. Plus it smells delish!
Helps with discoloration and is great to reduce the appearance of aging amongst many other things.

Invigorating night gel:
I suffer from hyperpigmentation and I needed a treatment to help with that. This little bottle should do the trick. It's an oil-free gel that helps minimize the appearance of fine lines, pigmentation and breakouts with AHA's(Alpha Hydroxy Acids)!! Oh yea!!

Sheer transformation creme:
I end my nightly treatment with this one. After applying my serum and gel, I put this on and my skin feels like silk. It's oil-free cream rich with vitamin C, licorice root(great for pigmentation), and pea extract.

You can also use these products for your morning treatment as well.

You can purchase Ole Henriksen products at Sephora stores or online

This products was $35 at Sephora inside JCP

If you've never heard of Ole Henrikson I advise you to go to your nearest Sephora and ask a consultant about the line or any brands. And if you are still a little skeptical, ask for a skincare consultation or a sample!

What skincare products are you using now that are working for you?

Where have you been Jerica?!

I've been away from my blogging for quite a few days!! Since I've been gone, I've been working, got another blog award from kaiwibarbie(yay so excited!), searching for more schooling, and searching for a new computer.. Oh these are my summer days! Tomorrow a new post! I hate when I don't post for days.

 Goodnight my loves!
